Do not place a mattress directly on the open frame because it does not provide a complete, flat sleeping surface. Customers who want to use a mattress without a box spring should consider a compatible platform bed or another properly supported base.

Centre support helps stabilize wider Double, Queen and King mattress-and-foundation setups. Depending on the frame, this may include a centre rail and additional support legs beneath the middle of the bed.

Make sure all support legs rest firmly on the floor and are adjusted evenly. The required support can vary by mattress size, frame design and warranty conditions.

Some metal bed frames include brackets for attaching a compatible headboard. Confirm the bracket position, headboard width and bolt-hole alignment before ordering.

A headboard may require separate bolts, hardware or adapters depending on its design. The frame should remain fully assembled and stable even when no headboard is attached.
