Warranty & Return Policy at a Glance

  • Mattress Warranty

Sleepwell-made mattresses may include a 1, 3, 5, or 10-year limited prorated warranty covering eligible manufacturing and structural defects.

  • Repair-First Coverage

Approved mattress warranty claims are handled through repair whenever practical. If the mattress cannot reasonably be repaired, prorated store credit may apply.

Sleepwell Mattress Warranty Coverage

Sleepwell Bedding provides limited prorated warranty coverage for eligible mattresses manufactured by Sleepwell Bedding. Coverage applies to confirmed defects in materials or workmanship during normal residential use.

The applicable warranty period—1, 3, 5, or 10 years—is shown on the product page, receipt, invoice, or written warranty supplied with the mattress.

Structural Squeaking or Noise

Persistent squeaking or unusual noise may qualify when inspection confirms that it comes from an internal mattress component—not the bed frame, foundation, floor, or surrounding furniture.

Permanent Indentation

A visible, permanent indentation measuring ¾ inch or greater may qualify when it remains without weight on the mattress and is caused by a structural or manufacturing defect.

Warranty Eligibility & Conditions

Who Is Covered?

The warranty applies to the original purchaser of a new Sleepwell-made mattress purchased directly from Sleepwell Bedding, unless different written terms were provided at the time of purchase.

Customers should keep:

  • Original receipt or accepted proof of purchase
  • Mattress model and size
  • Mattress identification label
  • Warranty information provided with the purchase

Coverage begins on the original purchase date and is non-transferable. A repair or prorated credit does not restart or extend the original warranty period.

What Is Not Covered?

The mattress warranty does not cover:

  • Personal comfort preference, including a mattress feeling too firm or too soft
  • Normal softening or settling of foam, fibre, or quilting
  • Surface impressions measuring less than ¾ inch
  • Stains, spills, odours, burns, mould, moisture, pet damage, or unsanitary conditions
  • Cuts, tears, punctures, folding, dragging, jumping, or accidental damage
  • Damage caused by improper support or an incorrectly assembled bed
  • Normal cosmetic, quilting, height, or dimensional variation
  • Used, resold, donated, or transferred mattresses
  • Commercial or institutional use unless separate written coverage was provided

Proper Support Requirements

The mattress must be used on a suitable support system, such as:

  • A supportive box spring in good condition
  • A flat, rigid platform
  • A properly assembled platform bed
  • A sturdy slatted base with gaps no wider than approximately 3 inches
  • A compatible adjustable base when the mattress is approved for adjustable use

Queen and king-size beds should have appropriate centre support extending to the floor. Damage caused by a broken, weak, sagging, or improperly assembled foundation is not covered.

Sleepwell may request photos of the complete support system when assessing a claim.

How Do I Measure a Mattress Indentation?

Remove all bedding and allow the mattress to rest without anyone or anything on it. Place a long, rigid straightedge across stable areas on both sides of the indentation. Measure vertically from the bottom of the straightedge to the deepest point of the indentation.

Please photograph:

  • The full mattress without bedding
  • The straightedge across the indentation
  • The ruler showing the depth
  • The mattress support system

A permanent indentation measuring ¾ inch or more may be considered for warranty assessment. The measurement alone does not confirm coverage; mattress condition, support, and the cause of the indentation must also be reviewed.

Mattress Condition and Care

To help maintain warranty eligibility:

  • Use a waterproof mattress protector
  • Keep the mattress clean and dry
  • Rotate it every 3–6 months
  • Flip it when the model is designed to be flippable
  • Do not fold, sharply bend, drag, jump on, or stand on the mattress
  • Regularly inspect the bed frame, base, slats, and centre support

A mattress that is unsafe or unsanitary to handle may be refused for transportation, inspection, or repair.

How Mattress Warranty Claims Are Resolved

Sleepwell Bedding follows a repair-first warranty process. When an eligible manufacturing defect is confirmed, we aim to repair the original mattress whenever a reasonable and lasting repair can be completed.

  • Claim Assessment

We review the proof of purchase, mattress condition, supporting photos, product label, foundation, and reported concern to determine whether the issue qualifies for warranty service.

An in-person inspection or additional information may be required.

  • Mattress Repair

When an approved defect can reasonably be repaired, our Winnipeg production team will complete the appropriate repair.

There is no administrative or repair-labour charge for an approved covered repair. Pickup and return delivery charges may apply when requested.

  • Prorated Store Credit

When an approved manufacturing defect cannot reasonably be repaired, prorated store credit may be provided toward another eligible Sleepwell mattress.

The credit is based on the unused portion of the original warranty and is not issued as cash.

How Prorated Store Credit Is Calculated

Original mattress price paid × remaining warranty months ÷ total warranty months

A mattress was purchased for $1,000 with a 10-year warranty. If an approved non-repairable defect is assessed after four complete years, 60% of the original warranty remains. The available prorated store credit would be $600.

Conditions

  • The calculation uses the mattress price actually paid after discounts.
  • Taxes, delivery, pickup, assembly, accessories, and other services are excluded.
  • The credit may be applied toward another eligible Sleepwell mattress.
  • The customer pays any difference when selecting a higher-priced mattress.
  • Unused credit is not paid out as cash.
  • A repair or prorated credit does not restart or extend the original warranty period.

Sleepwell Bedding will determine whether the mattress can reasonably be repaired after reviewing the product, reported concern, and inspection findings.

Returns, Comfort Adjustments & Product Warranties

Mattress and Custom-Product Sales

  • Products damaged after purchase
  • Products missing packaging, parts or instructions

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Delivery, shipping, pickup and assembly charges are non-refundable.

Comfort Adjustment Guarantee

A mattress feeling too firm or too soft is a comfort concern, not a manufacturing defect.

An eligible mattress purchased directly from Sleepwell Bedding may qualify for one after-purchase comfort adjustment under our separate Comfort Adjustment Guarantee.

The adjustment is not a return, exchange, refund, or mattress replacement.

Eligibility, timing, mattress condition and transportation requirements apply.

Products Made by Other Manufacturers

Some products sold by Sleepwell Bedding—including pillows, mattress protectors, bedding, metal frames, adjustable bases, electronics, and other accessories—are manufactured by other companies and are not covered by Sleepwell Bedding’s mattress-manufacturing warranty.

When a manufacturer’s warranty applies, its coverage period, conditions, exclusions, and available remedy vary by product. Keep your receipt, packaging, model information, serial number, and warranty documents.

Contact Sleepwell Bedding first with your purchase details. We can help identify the applicable manufacturer and available warranty process. The manufacturer may participate in assessing the claim and determining the remedy under its written warranty.

Nothing in this policy limits rights or remedies available under applicable consumer-protection law.

Mattress Warranty FAQs

How do I know my warranty period?

Sleepwell-made mattresses may include a 1, 3, 5, or 10-year limited prorated warranty. Check your product page, receipt, invoice, or written warranty information for the period that applies to your mattress.

Is the mattress warranty transferable?

No. The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and cannot be transferred when the mattress is sold, gifted, or given to another person.

What if I cannot find my receipt?

Contact us with the purchaser’s name, phone number, email address, approximate purchase date, and mattress details. We may be able to locate the transaction, but proof of purchase is normally required and record availability cannot be guaranteed.

Is there a charge for an approved repair?

There is no administrative or repair-labour charge for an approved defect covered by the Sleepwell mattress warranty. Pickup, return delivery, and services outside the approved repair may involve additional charges.

Does a repair restart the warranty?

No. A repair or use of prorated store credit does not restart or extend the original warranty period. Any remaining coverage continues only until the original warranty expiry date.

Can I bring my mattress in without an appointment?

Please contact us before bringing the mattress to our Winnipeg facility. Inspections, approved repairs, and same-day repair appointments must be scheduled in advance.
